Licence terms

Updated 28 August 2026

These terms cover the use of PianoLive. They are written in plain language on purpose: if anything is unclear, email me and I will explain it.

What you may do

Buying a licence gives you a permanent right to use PianoLive, with no expiry and nothing to renew. You may install it on every Mac you own and use it for anything, including paid concerts, church services, rehearsals and recordings. There are no per-performance limits and no royalties of any kind.

What you may not do

Your licence is yours and is not transferable: do not share your key, publish it or resell it. Please also do not decompile the app or attempt to generate keys.

The three-month trial

Before buying you get ninety days with the complete application, no crippled features and no card required. When it ends, the app asks for a licence before it will open again. Your patches, sounds and settings stay untouched on your Mac.

Your data

PianoLive works offline and collects no usage information. Your email and licence are stored only on your Mac. The one connection the app makes is a once-a-day check for a newer version, and that request contains nothing about you. Your email is used to issue your licence and to tell you about updates; I neither sell nor share it.

Updates

Updates within the 1.x series are included in your licence. If a major version with substantial changes ever arrives, I will say so in advance and existing owners will get preferential terms.

Refunds

The three-month trial exists so you can decide without risk. Even so, if you buy and within the first fourteen days the app does not serve you, email me and I will refund you without argument.

Warranty

PianoLive is provided as it is. I work to keep it solid and I fix the faults people report, but I cannot guarantee it is free of defects or accept liability for losses arising from its use. For live work, always test your whole rig before the show — that applies to this app and to every other one.
